pāua abalone shell (unpolished)
In Native American cultures, the abalone shell is used as a smudge bowl to burn sage in. They believed that the abalone and sage together will carry their messages up to heaven. Since the Abalone Shell is a water vessel, keep it protected from the fire of burning sage by lining the bottom with a thin layer of sand.
You could also use abalone shells to store your crystals, or for meditation purposes. Boost the healing power of abalone shell by combining it with other energy amplifiers like quartz crystal. No two shells are the same nor perfect.

To address why we are “vegan” yet support the use of abalone shell; Pāua abalone shells are ethically sourced in New Zealand due to their strict harvesting rules. They are sustainable and degrades over time when given back to nature. The main purpose for harvesting Paua is to obtain the Paua meat, with the shell being left as a by-product. Without a long established industry for using the Paua shells, the shells would be discarded and left to gradually degrade.
